Heritage Modular was started when Sean Sweeney recognized that the modular building process could help him offer quality built homes to a larger audience. Sean’s company, Heritage Builders, is well known as a custom builder that brings his expertise and attention to detail to each home. Heritage Builders’ home were traditionally built (otherwise referred to as “stick built”) which meant that Heritage Builders’ crews spent more time on each project thereby limiting the amount of projects Heritage Builders could complete in a year thereby resulting in clients having to push their projects off sometimes for a year.

During this time, the Massachusetts Building Code became more stringent which caused the price for construction increase. These changes caused renovations and additional to be disproportionally affected as many projects required that work be done outside of the envelope of the addition or renovation.

Sean decided that modular construction was the answer to solve all of these issues. After conducting research for three years, which involved visiting many modular manufacturers and factories, Sean started Heritage Modular. Heritage Modular has designed and constructed many custom modular homes from its inception and continues to push the industry regarding design techniques, New England design, and energy saving systems.
